Matt Asiata was far from proving to be an answer for the absence of Adrian Peterson. Of course, there are very few running backs in the league that could fill Peterson's role for the Minnesota Vikings. Regardless, Asiata didn't light up the stat sheet. He carried the ball 13 times for just 36 yards. Asiata saw more results in the receiving game. He caught five passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. The Vikings ended up losing 30-7 to the New England Patriots.
Matt Asiata proves some fantasy relevance in absence of Adrian Peterson
Matt Asiata was mediocre on the field, but he churned out a solid fantasy outing.

Fantasy impact: Asiata was the hot waiver wire grab late in the week when Adrian Peterson was deactivated as he dealt with his legal troubles stemming from an indictment for negligent injury to a child charges. Asiata’s 2.8 YPC is disappointing, but as long as Peterson is out, Asiata will be fantasy relevant out of sheer quantity. Rookie Jerick McKinnon can be stashed in deeper leagues due to his potential upside, but it appears to be Asiata’s job for now.
