New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski played in just 28 of 67 snaps against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Despite no reported setbacks with his injury in the past couple weeks, Gronkowski saw fewer snaps and fewer targets. Against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1, hei played in 38 of 86 snaps.

Gronkowski also saw 11 targets in that Week 1 game, and caught four passes for 40 yards and a touchdown. He primarily played on third down and in the red zone and it was a similar situation on Sunday. Gronkowski again caught four passes, but this time went for 32 yards with no touchdowns, and he was targeted six times.
Fantasy Impact: It doesn’t sound like Gronkowski is still limited in regards to his injury. It sounds like the Patriots simply have a plan set out for him that they hope to rigidly follow regardless of how the game is playing out, and who can blame them? Whatever steps they need to take to ensure that Gronkowski is not only healthy but prepared have to be worth it in the end. He remains a must-start for his potential.
