High ankle sprains vary considerably when it comes to recovery time. Generally, 4-6 weeks is a safe bet, but players have come back faster than that while others have missed much more time. Charles sustained the injury in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos, finishing the game with just two carries for 4 yards and one reception for 8 yards.
Fantasy Impact: “Injury prone” is kind of an ugly phrase, but it’s been a reality for most of Charles’ career, as frequent fantasy owners can attest. Whatever the case, he’ll miss some time so fantasy owners need to prepare. Charles was already off to a slow start to his season, as he picked up just 19 yards rushing in his first outing, though Reid admitted that he didn’t give Charles enough opportunities to make something happen.
Fantasy owners will want to have Knile Davis as a handcuff for Charles. Davis is worth a start after picking up 79 yards and two touchdowns against the Broncos after Charles went down with the injury.
