Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III does not have a fracture in his ankle, according to reports. Unfortunately for Washington fans, Griffin will still have to miss a significant amount of time, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. That could mean 6-8 weeks of time on the bench.
Robert Griffin III could miss 6-8 weeks, per report; fantasy owners should have Kirk Cousins ready
Robert Griffin III could miss 6-8 weeks with an ankle injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Griffin injured himself while scrambling against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was running to the sideline trying to make something happen and simply came down awkwardly on his ankle as he reached the sideline. He was visibly in pain, and he had to get an air cast on his ankle. He was eventually carted off the field.
Fantasy Impact: Initially, many thought Griffin had broken his ankle, which obviously would have forced him out for the season. Griffin struggled through two games, but wasn’t playing poorly. In his two games (keeping in mind he attempted just three passes before getting injured against Jacksonville) he completed 31 of 40 passes for 305 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He didn’t have Washington looking particularly good, but he’s the starting quarterback and his loss is a big deal.
For fantasy owners, the handcuff is obviously Kirk Cousins. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect to have Griffin back for at least six weeks. It's worth noting that Washington can't place him on injured reserve with the return designation because they've already used that on another player.
