Denver Broncos receiver Wes Welker had his suspension lifted due to the changes of the new NFL drug policy. He was originally suspended for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Patient fantasy owners rejoice with Wes Welker’s suspension reduced
Wes Welker had his suspension reduced with the new NFL drug policy. We break down the fantasy implications.

Welker reportedly ingested “Molly” at the 2014 Kentucky Derby and missed Week 1 because of it. The Broncos have kept their roster at 52 in hopes they would have their slot receiver for Week 3’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. It’s potentially their toughest matchup of the season -- in Seattle -- so getting Welker back in time is huge.
The 33-year-old wideout had two concussions last season and had another one in August, so the Broncos may want to be careful even if he's cleared to play. They have counted on veteran Andre Caldwell in three-wide sets while tight end Julius Thomas exploded in Week 1 with three scores.
Fantasy impact: If you're in a PPR league, Welker should be thrown back into your lineup as long as he's active. Standard league owners can view him as a risky WR3 until further notice. Obviously, Caldwell can be cut in almost all leagues while rookie receiver Cody Latimer has no value -- he had no targets in Week 1. There's no need to worry about Julius Thomas or receiver Demaryius Thomas
