Fantasy football rankings, Week 3: Wide receivers for standard, PPR leagues

The injuries continue to pile up and the wide receiver position hasn't been spared. The biggest injury during Week 2 was likely A.J. Green's. The Cincinnati Bengals wideout left the game without posting any fantasy points and undoubtedly resulted in some serious issues for your squad. Green had an MRI on his foot and it came back negative, which is a positive for his owners. He may still be held out this week, so keep an eye on his status. If Green doesn't play in Week 3, he'll have an extra week of rest, as the Bengals' bye week is Week 4.

Washington lost its high-priced offseason acquisition, DeSean Jackson, to a shoulder sprain. He's currently viewed as day-to-day but says he plans to play against his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in Week 3. I wouldn't put it past him to be ready to go for Sunday, but the question remains about how effective he will be during the game. Washington's last opponent, Jacksonville, was without its top wideout, Cecil Shorts. It looks as though he has a shot of playing in Week 3. The Jaguars have been taking their time with Shorts and he should be able to at least practice this week.

There have been multiple reports about Eric Decker's hamstring injury. Some say the New York Jets receiver will be out a few weeks, but others say he'll be ready for Week 3. Keep a watch on the practice reports and make sure you're not caught in a tough spot with the Jets playing on Monday night. Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery played in their Sunday-night game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2. From some reports, we were really close to not seeing them. I know one owner who benched Marshall and missed out on his monster game. They're both going to show up on the injury reports this week, but make sure you have the most up-to-date information before setting your lineups. It'll be tough with these three, as their game doesn't start until Monday night.

Davante Adams looks to be making some noise in Green Bay. He caught five passes for 50 yards against the Jets. If he moves ahead of Jarrett Boykin on the depth chart, his value will skyrocket. If you're playing in a big league or have roster space to stash him, grab him now before his first big game. Mohamed Sanu is another great waiver pick-up. With A.J. Green limited or out this week, Sanu should benefit. He made some big plays against the Atlanta Atlanta Falcons and that should continue against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3.
