Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson has a lot of miles on his tires these days. In his career, he has over 3,000 touches and should have his career yardage total over 15,000 later this season. That could happen with a big game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 3: Steven Jackson
Steven Jackson hasn’t been a big part of the Falcons offense. Will that change on Thursday for fantasy owners?

After a miserable 3.5 yards-per-carry last season, he’s up to a respectable 4.3 this season. Although, he only has 23 carries and two receptions for a combined 105 yards from scrimmage. Even when the Falcons set a franchise record for yards on offense against the New Orleans Saints, Jackson had just 52 yards in Week 1.
The good news is that nobody is really pushing him for carries, so he should be a safe bet for double-digit touches in Week 3. Plus, he hasn’t been on the injury report and is probably the healthiest he’ll be all year.
Even with those positives, it’s still going to be tough to start Jackson. He’s on a short week and the Bucs have a very strong front seven. Linebacker Lavonte David should have his eyes on Jackson for much of the game, which makes him more of a RB3 this week. He doesn’t have enough upside to start in most cases.
