New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton gave running back Khiry Robinson a vote of confidence on Wednesday, according to Mike Triplett of ESPN. Payton said that Robinson would be "ready for the workload" he'll receive with starter Mark Ingram set to miss time with a thumb injury. Ingram has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Sean Payton expresses confidence in Khiry Robinson; RB has some fantasy value
Khiry Robinson stands to get some significant playing time with Mark Ingram injured. We break down the fantasy implications.

Robinson and Pierre Thomas are expected to pick up the slack while Ingram nurses his injuries. He's expected to miss multiple games, which means Robinson is looking at a pretty sizable opportunity. He has the chance to earn starter-like touches with Thomas' role in the offense already defined.
Fantasy Impact: Robinson has played well in the past. He’s carried the ball 14 times for 59 yards and a touchdown this season, and last year he carried the ball 21 times for 102 yards and a touchdown in two playoff games. The Saints obviously have some confidence in him, and fantasy owners of Ingram should definitely have him as a handcuff. Robinson has a lot of potential and should be started as a flex option in Week 3.
