Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is hopeful that he can play in Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, but he's done little throwing since sustaining a nerve injury to his shoulder. During Wednesday's practice, Palmer did dropbacks and other drills with the other quarterbacks. However, he didn't throw the ball at the end of said dropbacks, choosing instead to tuck it, as noted on the official website.
Carson Palmer hasn’t thrown much in practice due to injury; fantasy value shaky
Carson Palmer is hopeful he can play, but he hasn’t thrown much this week. We break down the fantasy implications.

It's hard to imagine Palmer playing in Sunday's game, and even if he does there's no way his arm strength is all the way there. The 49ers have a solid defense and if Palmer isn't at 100 percent, it's hard to imagine the Cardinals would be better off with him than with Drew Stanton.
Fantasy Impact: Palmer is capable of some strong fantasy points, especially against a 49ers secondary that is riddled with injuries. But if he does play on Sunday, he’s not a smart fantasy option. He needs to show that he can throw the ball with velocity before fantasy owners give him a start. But his chances of even stepping on the field seem remote at this point. He can play without much practice time, of course, but the Cardinals might be comfortable going with the backup Stanton for another game.
