Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles was back practicing with the team on Thursday, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN. What he was able to do at practice is unknown, but the fact that he was active at all is surprising given that he's coming off a high ankle sprain.
Jamaal Charles returns to practice; fantasy owners should monitor situation
Jamaal Charles was expected to miss a bit of time, but he returned to practice on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Typically, a high ankle sprain has a recovery time of a few weeks. If Charles is back practicing, then he must have had a minor sprain. Whether he's even a candidate to play on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins remains to be seen. Knile Davis had 79 yards rushing in Charles' absence against the Denver Broncos in Week 2.
Fantasy Impact: We’ve been talking about benching Charles now and prepping Davis as a handcuff. Davis has a lot of potential to put up big yardage against the Dolphins. But it’s hard to imagine Charles would be practicing at all unless there was a chance that he was going to play on Sunday, so now fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach. If he practices again on Friday, it will be telling.
