With Doug Martin out for Week 3, Bobby Rainey took over the starting duties for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rainey rushed for 41 yards on 11 carries and caught seven passes for a team-high 64 yards against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night.
Bobby Rainey salvages fantasy stats in garbage time in Week 3
Despite fumbling twice, Rainey still managed to post over 100 total yards in Week 3. We break down the fantasy implications.

Rainey fumbled twice on the night, and was initially punished as Lovie Smith put backup running back Mike James in for a few snaps. Rainey eventually handled garbage time duty and paid off for PPR owners.
Fantasy impact: It wasn’t nearly the night we were expecting from Rainey. The Falcons defense was the worst in the league against running backs coming into Week 3. Rainey didn’t quite take advantage of such a matchup, and the Buccaneers overall were forced to endure a miserable night.
Going forward, Rainey will still be in the RB2 discussion if Martin sits out again. With Martin back in the lineup, Rainey will likely still get a decent amount of carries with the way the team is playing right now.
