Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles practiced at a limited capacity for the second time this week on Friday, and is officially listed as questionable on the team's injury report.
Jamaal Charles injury update: star RB a game-time decision, fantasy owners can only wait
Despite exiting with a high-ankle sprain in Week 2, Jamaal Charles may take the field after all versus the Miami Dolphins. We break down the fantasy implications.

It had been initially thought that Charles would miss multiple weeks with a high ankle sprain, but his actions may dictate otherwise. He returned to practice on Thursday and "looked OK," according to onlooking beat reporter Adam Teicher. His progress is encouraging enough that coming back at a limited capacity versus the Miami Dolphins is a possibility, but nothing it set in stone. Should he be unable to go, Knile Davis will shoulder the load once again. Charles is a true game-time decision.
Fantasy Spin: This is about as bad as it gets for fantasy owners, since Charles and the Chiefs play at 4:25 p.m. ET, well after lineups have been set. Brandon Marshall owners know that feeling of dread all too well, after he missed an entire week of practice, then posted three touchdowns on Monday night while sitting on fantasy benches across the spectrum.
Charles’ owners would also be taking a risk by starting him, and typical RB3s and flex options would be much safer due to his uncertain status. In the meantime, owners can at least make sure Charles is penciled into a flex spot, so that if he is announced inactive, they have more options to fill that slot in the lineup. Fantasy owners hate playing the waiting game, but it’s the only thing they can do at this point.
