Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is not expected to play against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. He suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2 and did not return.
Knile Davis could be a fantasy stud with Jamaal Charles not expected to play
Jamaal Charles is not expected to play and it looks like it’s going to be the Knile Davis Show. We break down the fantasy implications.

Despite a reported prognosis of two to four weeks, Charles actually did some work on the side in practice and has a small chance to play. High ankle injuries can be tricky for a running back and the last thing the Chiefs would want is another injury to yet another star player, so they’re going to be cautious here.
Enter Knile Davis. The 22-year-old back has been phenomenal as the bell-cow runner and excelled last week against the Denver Broncos, scoring two touchdowns with 107 yards from scrimmage. He also had a two-TD, 29-touch game in Week 17 of 2013 when the Chiefs rested Charles in preparation for the postseason. He'll start and will be in a similar role.
Fantasy impact: There is nothing official, but there are multiple reports of Charlies being out. Ideally, you have Charles and Davis on your roster and can just play the starter. If you only have Charles and don’t have a phenomenal alternative, you might want to bench Charles. Davis owners should view him as a solid RB1 once the official word comes down.
