Denver Broncos receiver Wes Welker is expected to only see a third-down role against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. He is making his season debut after being reinstated from what would have been a four-game suspension.
Wes Welker remains a risky fantasy play in season debut
Wes Welker might not get a full load of snaps. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Broncos are not short on receiving options these days with Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders all as above-average guys for quarterback Peyton Manning, so they aren't in dire straits. The team may likely just be planning on this, and of course their plan could fall apart at the toughest place to play against a stout defense.
Welker was targeted 10 times against the Seahawks in the Super Bowl and he caught 1.5 touchdowns per game in his first four games of 2013. He’s a fast starter in most season and will still likely get five chances to make a play.
Fantasy impact: It’s still a very risky spot for Welker. He’s more of a WR4 with this news due to all the risk and the sub-par matchup. Fantasy owners should probably just keep him on their benches for now and see what happens.
