New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen is expected to play against Oakland Raiders in Week 3, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He is listed as questionable due to a shoulder injury and was limited in practice this week.
Shane Vereen is expected to play for fantasy owners
Shane Vereen is expected to play against the Raiders. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Patriots are at home and are two-touchdown favorites over the Raiders, which means the running game should be a bigger part of their plan. What's more, the Raiders are also expected not to have linebackers Nick Roach (concussion) and Sio Moore (ankle). Vereen and Stevan Ridley will likely be ripping off runs all day long.
For what it’s worth, Ridley has out-touched Vereen in games that the Patriots win while it’s the other way around in losses. If Ridley doesn’t have his perpetual fumbling issues, he may be the lead dog again and turn in a huge game.
Fantasy impact: Even if Vereen only gets a shade below his normal workload, the Patriots should have plenty of big-play opportunities. He’s a very strong RB2 in PPR leagues and is a solid flex in standards. Ridley is almost impossible to bench this week unless you’re stacked at back.
