Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts III made his season debut against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3, finishing with five catches for 35 receiving yards and one touchdown. He wasn't announced as a go for this game until Friday and has been dealing with his balky hamstring strain since training camp.
Cecil Shorts’ claim to start him in fantasy pays off
Cecil Shorts picked up a garbage-time touchdown in a blowout loss. We break down the fantasy implications.

On the lighter side of things, Shorts said fantasy owners should start him this week. He was right and maybe he knew something we all did not regarding Blake Bortles' status. The rookie quarterback made his debut and was able to buy some time with his scrambling to allow his receivers to get open down the field.
Fantasy impact: The Jaguars finally have some sort of hope on offense. Shorts is likely going to be their X receiver the rest of the way and he should get better with Bortles. After all, the two have barely practiced together due to Shorts’ aforementioned hamstring injury. He’s worth owning in all leagues for his upside, but is more of a stash in 12-team formats.
