Jacksonville Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart had his third consecutive quiet afternoon in the backfield, rushing for 32 yards on nine carries with two catches for 31 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3.
Fantasy owners still waiting on Toby Gerhart
Toby Gerhart continues to be a letdown with his new team. We break down the fantasy implications.

He was hurt in Week 1 and only had 8 rushing yards in Week 2, so needless to say he’s not setting the world on fire in his new starting role. Gerhart is a career 4.5 yards-per-carry rusher, but the Jaguars can’t get any push up front and the running lanes just aren’t there. What’s more, it’s tough to get a rushing attack going when a team is down 30-0 at half like the Jaguars were Sunday.
On the bright side, Blake Bortles took over at quarterback and will remain there for next week against the San Diego Chargers. That should help Gerhart at least a little bit.
Fantasy impact: The preseason expectation for Gerhart was to be a RB2/3 and that’s probably where it should be despite the horrific start. He’s not getting competition for carries and there is at least some hope he can ride the coattails of Bortles. The Stanford product is a solid buy-low target.
