New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen had good production in Week 1. His teammate, Stevan Ridley, was the Week 2 bell cow. In the team's Week 3 16-9 win over the Oakland Raiders, though, neither running back managed to get much going.
Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen both struggle in fantasy
The New England offense never really got going Sunday, capping the production of both of the team’s running backs. We break down the fantasy implications.

Ridley carried the ball 19 times for 54 yards in the game, adding a catch for 7 more yards. Vereen, meanwhile, ran for 20 yards on seven carries. He added four catches for 17 more.
Fantasy impact: That’s fewer than 3.0 yards per carry for both running backs, and not much contribution in the passing game. Against an Oakland team the Patriots were expected to beat handily, this level of production had to be very disappointing for owners of either New England running back.
Through three games, with each running back offering big production once, it’s going to be tough to know who to trust on a game-to-game basis, rendering each guy a questionable flex play, but with good upside.
