Starting for the injured Maurice Jones-Drew for the second straight game, Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden couldn't get a lot going Sunday. He managed only five fantasy points in the Raiders' 16-9 loss to the New England Patriots.
Darren McFadden doesn’t offer much for Raiders, fantasy owners
The Raiders running back had a late touchdown called back, keeping his fantasy production down. We break down the fantasy implications.

McFadden ran the ball for 59 yards on 18 carries. He also had 6 receiving yards on four catches. The 65 yards from scrimmage was similar to his 68-yard total from Week 2, but McFadden scored a touchdown a game ago and couldn’t do the same on Sunday.
Fantasy impact: McFadden’s fantasy day was almost salvaged by a late touchdown that would have tied the game, but it was called back on a holding penalty. As it was, McFadden -- who couldn’t have been seen as more than an emergency fill-in for fantasy -- didn’t offer much for his fantasy owners.
Jones-Drew looked like he might make a return for Week 3 before being declared inactive. With the Raiders having a bye in Week 5, there’s some reason to think they might give Jones-Drew one more week off to get him fully healthy, but even if they do, it’s hard to imagine trusting McFadden enough to run him out there in fantasy.
