Houston Texans rookie running back Alfred Blue, an emergency starter when Arian Foster was ruled out with a hamstring injury, performed well. The rookie ran for 6 yards a carry in the team's 30-17 loss to the New York Giants.
Alfred Blue productive in fantasy as injury replacement
The rookie wasn’t expected to get the job this quickly, but was pressed into action and did well. We break down the fantasy implications.

Blue ran for 78 yards on 13 carries in the game, adding 10 receiving yards on a catch. It was by no means a huge game, but for a rookie in his first game with heavy usage, it was more than acceptable. The team's other backup running backs, Jonathan Grimes and Ronnie Brown, weren't a part of the team's rushing game. Grimes ran the ball only once for 5 yards, while Brown got three carries for 2 yards.
Fantasy impact: As long as Foster is out, Blue has shown he can be a fine RB2. That said, Foster appeared to be close to playing Sunday, so odds are good he'll be back for the Texans' Week 4 game against the Buffalo Bills. Either way, though, Blue has shown enough, and Foster is brittle enough, that the rookie needs to be owned in all leagues, particularly by Foster's owners.
