A week after both had huge games against the New York Jets, Green Bay Packers wide receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb were both basically silenced Sunday. The two were held to 88 combined yards in the Packers' 19-7 loss to the Detroit Lions.
Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb both have quiet fantasy days
The Packers’ star receivers were both held in check Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Nelson, who went for 209 yards and a touchdown in Week 2, was held to five receptions for 59 yards Sunday. Cobb hadn’t accumulated much in the way of yardage so far this season, but had three touchdowns through two games before being limited to 29 yards Sunday, and no sniff of the end zone.
Fantasy impact: This game didn’t align with anyone’s expectations, as most expected a high-scoring affair. Nelson, who had been one of the most impressive wide receivers in the league entering Sunday, figures to be fine in the long run, the lead man in what should be a good Green Bay offense.
Cobb’s long-term value is more up in the air since the receiver’s value of late has been very touchdown-dependent, and relying on scores for value is a good way to offer some very disappointing results. Nelson is still an easy WR1, and Cobb is probably a WR2, but keep an eye on the second guy, who needs to start offering more in the way of yardage.
