A week after scoring three touchdowns in the team's big win over the Seattle Seahawks, San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates was held to much less production Sunday. The star veteran caught only one pass in the team's 22-10 win over the Buffalo Bills.
Antonio Gates can’t repeat fantasy heights for Chargers
The San Diego tight end was held in check Sunday, while his backup had a bigger game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gates had 8 yards on his only target of the game. The team's No. 2 tight end, Ladarius Green, was more productive, with four catches (six targets) for 64 yards.
Fantasy impact: Green and Gates were ranked similarly entering the season, with Green seen as the up-and-comer and Gates as the veteran on his last legs. Through two weeks, Green had offered little, while Gates had been very productive.
This appears to be the new reality, with Gates probably a better overall play, but Green having the occasional bigger games. Good luck guessing with ones his bigger games will be. Gates is a low-end TE1 going forward, while Green is a TE2 with upside.
