New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith will continue to start for the team despite his shaky performance against the Chicago Bears in Week 3, according to Rich Cimini. Smith threw for 316 yards and a touchdown to go with a pair of interceptions in the game.
Geno Smith not getting benched anytime soon, still a worthy fantasy starter
The Jets’ sophomore quarterback has the support of team management and will continue to be the club’s starter moving forward. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Smith's yardage total in the game was a solid total, but a few questionable decisions to pass the ball on the run or into tight coverage allowed the Bears to walk away with the victory on Monday. With veteran backup Michael Vick always in the conversation to fill in when Smith shows signs of struggling, it's nice Smith still has the team's vote of confidence.
It appears Smith will keep getting the starting nod moving forward, which indicates the Jets really want him to be the quarterback of not only the present moment, but also the future.
Fantasy owners should continue starting Smith in deeper leagues, but if he keeps struggling, Vick might be worth a late-season look. For now, there’s no reason to jump the gun on that.
