Washington tight end Jordan Reed is officially out for Thursday's game against the New York Giants. Reed is dealing with a hamstring injury and has missed the past two games. Hamstring injuries are notoriously difficult to nail down when it comes to recovery time. Some players are fine within a day or two, others can miss months. Reed is now on his third week of missed action.
Jordan Reed ruled out; Niles Paul remains the fantasy option as a replacement
Jordan Reed has been ruled out of Thursday’s game against the New York Giants. We break down the fantasy implications.

Reed did not practice on Tuesday or Wednesday due to the injury. Niles Paul has been the top tight end in Reed's absence, and he's played decent but unspectacular football. Paul has caught 18 passes for 253 yards and a touchdown to go with a lost fumble. Reed caught one pass for 4 yards before going down with an injury.
Fantasy Impact: Paul is a decent option at this point, and he might be the best folks have to replace Reed. It's doubtful Reed would even be a significant upgrade at this point. So for fantasy owners, the decision is an easy one: Reed is out for at least another week and will be targeting a Week 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks for his return.
