Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta is among the best in the league, and his season-ending hip injury leaves a large void on the depth chart. But the Ravens have to march on, and the team isn't expected to change up its offensive scheme too much, hoping that backup tight end Owen Daniels can step right into the role, as noted by Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.
Owen Daniels should be solid fantasy option as Ravens look to replace Dennis Pitta’s production
Owen Daniels should step into the starting role for the Baltimore Ravens due to Dennis Pitta’s season-ending injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Daniels has been one of the top tight ends in the NFL for some time, but at 31 years old, he's slowed considerably. Still, the Ravens will likely utilize Daniels heavily, and we should also see Crockett Gillmore and Phillip Supernaw, as the Ravens like the use two-tight end sets.
Pitta caught 16 passes for 125 yards before going down with his injury. Daniels has caught 10 passes for 70 yards, but also has two touchdowns, so he’s already frequently being used in red-zone situations.
Fantasy Impact: Pitta fantasy owners have to be bummed, but they can do a whole lot worse than Daniels at this point. We’re confident Daniels will struggle more when he’s the primary focus of the defense as opposed to the second tight end on the field, but he should be able to put up decent numbers in Baltimore’s offense and should be considered a solid TE2 going forward.
