Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles has a solid chance to play on Monday against the New England Patriots. Head coach Andy Reid was asked if Charles will participate in practice this week and play in the game, and Reid said "Yeah, I think so," and said that they need to evaluate how Charles performs in practice, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.
Andy Reid optimistic about Jamaal Charles’ chances of playing; fantasy status encouraging
Jamaal Charles could play in Week 4 against the New England Patriots. We break down the fantasy implications.

Charles sustained a high ankle sprain and it was a big surprise when he wasn't declared out for last week's game against the Miami Dolphins, at least initially. Recovery time from a high ankle sprain typically ranges between four and six weeks, so Charles is way ahead on his recovery and likely only sustained a minor sprain. Whatever the case, he did end up missing the aforementioned Dolphins game, but his replacement, Knile Davis, put up 132 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Fantasy Impact: Reid is being optimistic about Charles’ chances, which is good. We’ll obviously have to see what happens on Friday and Saturday before making a call, but Charles might just be making his return for fantasy owners this week.
