Kansas City Chiefs running back Joe McKnight tore his Achilles at practice Thursday and will not play again this season. He was brought on this summer as a change-of-pace back and looked great in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins.
Joe McKnight’s fantasy season ends with Achilles tear; De’Anthony Thomas on the radar
McKnight tore his Achilles in practice this week. We break down the fantasy implications.

It’s too bad after his stellar performance of six catches for 64 receiving yards and two scores in Week 3. McKnight also played on special teams and had three kick returns for 65 yards on the season.
Fantasy impact: The impact here is that De'Anthony Thomas could step into McKnight's role. Thomas has been limited by a hamstring strain for most of the season, but he's been back at practice. If you're in a return-yardage league or a 16-team PPR format, it might be worth watching Thomas. He could also be used in the slot a la former Chief Dexter McCluster. Although, he's very unlikely to be a factor on offense while Jamaal Charles is in the active lineup.
