Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 4: Dolphins vs. Raiders

The year’s first London game features two teams that probably wouldn’t be the Brits’ first choice.

Mike Ehrmann

The Oakland Raiders are nominally the home team for their game Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Of course, with the game being played in London, the Raiders could scarcely be further away from their home stadium.

The game -- an evening game in London -- will be played at 1 p.m. ET Sunday. Here’s a look at the (few) fantasy-relevant names:

Dolphins

Start in every league: Lamar Miller, Mike Wallace, Defense/special teams

Start if you're desperate: Caleb Sturgis

Bench: Ryan Tannehill, Brian Hartline, Charles Clay

With Knowshon Moreno on the shelf, Miller didn’t have a huge game in Week 3, but it was good enough; he’s an easy start at running back this week. ... Wallace has put up good numbers so far this year, even with subpar quarterbacking. He’s a low-end WR2. ... The Dolphins’ defense hasn’t been great so far, but against Oakland, they probably deserve a start.

Sturgis should be a fine low-end kicking option, though keep an eye on the conditions in London; they often come into play.

There was talk earlier this year that Tannehill could be benched for this game; that’s not happening, but it’s clear he’s not a strong fantasy option. ... Hartline had his first good game of the season in Week 3; he hasn’t offered much. ... Clay has been a big disappointment through three games.

Raiders

Start in every league: ...

Start if you're desperate: James Jones

Bench: Derek Carr, Maurice Jones-Drew, Darren McFadden, Denarius Moore, Rod Streater, Andre Holmes, Mychal Rivera, Sebastian Janikowski, Defense/special teams

There’s not much impressive about Oakland’s team. Even Jones, who could be a mid-level flex play, is coming off of a four-point game.

And that’s it. Carr managed only four fantasy points last week. ... Jones-Drew appears to be healthy, but it doesn’t look like he offers enough value to use in fantasy, and his return destroys McFadden’s value as well. ... Moore, Streater, Holmes and Rivers have combined for 15 points in the last two weeks. That’s dang awful. ... Janikowski was part of that fun -kowski stat last week, but other than that there’s not much going for him. ... The Raiders’ defense isn’t worth a lot.
