Fantasy football projections, Week 4: Patriots-Chiefs featuring Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Jamaal Charles
We break down the Week 4 matchup between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs.

New England Patriots
Quarterback Tom Brady doesn't look like the Tom Brady of old these days, at least not in fantasy terms. He's averaging just 209 passing yards through three weeks and has yet to put together a multi-touchdown game. He probably isn't too worried given that his team is still 2-1 on the season, but the Chiefs possess a good pass rush, and the game is at Arrowhead Stadium. While Kansas City does give up its fair share of fantasy points to quarterbacks, it'll be interesting to see if Brady can still take his fantasy production to the higher levels we've gotten used to over the years in Week 4.
If he does indeed elevate his output on Monday, tight end Rob Gronkowski will undoubtedly be a reason for it. While the Pats' star tight end isn't putting up tons of receiving yards in the early going, he's still found the end zone in two of the team's three contests. Kansas City is dealing with injuries at the linebacker and safety positions right now, so Gronk could have more room to get open. Fantasy owners should look to start him at tight end against the Chiefs.
Kansas City Chiefs
After sitting out Week 3, running back Jamaal Charles (ankle) is expected to play after he participated in practice earlier in the week. He'll be up against a Patriots defense that is considered generous on the ground, but it remains to be seen whether he'll be operating at full speed on Monday. So far this season, Charles has just 23 yards rushing on nine carries. Although that's a small sample size, fantasy owners have to be concerned considering Charles was drafted in the top five picks of virtually all fantasy leagues this season.
If Charles proves to be ineffective, quarterback Alex Smith will have his work cut out for him throwing the ball. Smith is coming off of an efficient performance that saw him throw a trio of touchdown passes on just 19 completions. While those numbers are great for winning on the field, they don't often get the job done in fantasy leagues. Considering that Smith plays a Patriots defense that gives up the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks in the league, owners might want to start someone else under center this time around.
