Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton continued his slow start to the season Sunday. After missing Week 1, the quarterback has put up progressively fewer fantasy points in the three games since, with only 11 fantasy points in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Newton completed only 14 of his 25 pass attempts Sunday, going for 197 yards and a touchdown. He has yet to throw an interception on the season, but he also has yet to account for more than one touchdown in any game.
Fantasy impact: The worst thing about Newton's line so far this season from a fantasy perspective is his virtual absence from the team's running attack. Even with Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert sidelined and DeAngelo Williams banged up, Newton ran the ball just twice Sunday for 7 total yards, bringing him to eight carries and 33 yards through three games.
A big part of Newton’s fantasy value in past years has been his rushing ability -- he didn’t have a single game in his career with fewer than four rushing attempts before rushing twice in each of his last two games. If Newton isn’t providing rushing yards, his arm and his receiving corps just don’t combine for enough fantasy potential to make Newton the must-start he’s always been. Going forward, unless and until he starts rushing more, Newton is a QB2.
