Someone had to benefit from Calvin Johnson not playing at 100 percent. On Sunday, it was Golden Tate. Tate caught eight of his 10 targets for 116 yards in Sunday's win over the New York Jets. Tate accounted for nearly one third of the team's targets. Johnson played on a limited basis as he nursed an ankle injury. He was on the field for roughly half of the team's offensive snaps and most of the time it was to draw coverage and open up things for players like Tate.
Golden Tate emerges for fantasy owners in Week 4
Tate was the biggest beneficiary of Calvin Johnson’s limited role. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Of course it’s worth keeping in mind that Tate had his best game as a Detroit Lion while Johnson wasn’t fully healthy. It’s unlikely that Tate will see his Week 4 numbers on a consistent basis. It’s also worth noting that Tate has yet to find the end zone this season. However, he was averaging seven targets a game before Sunday’s contest. He’s shaping up to be a solid WR3 especially in PPR leagues.
