Dwayne Bowe returns to practice, won’t make fantasy impact until Week 2
Dwayne Bowe is suspended for the season opener and missed time with a quad injury, but he returned to practice on Wednesday and should be ready to make his season debut in Week 2. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Chiefs sat Bowe for the final two preseason games and all practices in between. Under normal circumstances, Bowe would be ready to suit up for Week 1, but he is suspended one game for a violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Bowe is still allowed to practice with the team and will return in Week 2.
Fantasy impact: Bowe’s quad injury should be a distant memory by the time he is reinstated. It’s his inconsistent production that makes fantasy owners concerned. Bowe hasn’t reached 1,000 receiving yards since 2011 and his numbers continue to trend downwards -- his 57 catches and 673 yards last year are his lowest totals since 2009, when he missed five games.
Bowe is turning 30 later this month and has clearly hit his fantasy peak several years ago. He’s an WR4 who will have the occasional WR2 week, but will frustrate owners more often than not.
