Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy thinks he'll get fewer touches this season. That's due to the arrival of Darren Sproles, and it's something that McCoy is fine with, according to Philly.com. McCoy led the league in rushing, and also carries in 2013-14 -- 314 carries and 366 touches altogether -- but said that he doesn't know that "300-plus carries is really needed."
LeSean McCoy thinks he’ll get fewer touches thanks to Darren Sproles; fantasy value still high
LeSean McCoy thinks that Darren Sproles will cause him to get fewer touches this season. We break down the fantasy implications.

McCoy said that if a given game “gets tight and they need to ride me, I’m the guy for it,” but that the Eagles will be “mixing it up” otherwise with Sproles. McCoy was one of the best offensive players in the league a season ago, but Sproles has always been an incredibly effective weapon for offenses that know how to use him. He’s an asset in the running game and the passing game, and is the definition of a change-of-pace back. It’s not surprising to see McCoy admitting that he’ll likely lose out on some carries.
Fantasy Impact: McCoy is still the top running back in Philadelphia and one of the best fantasy football running backs overall. He’ll get the lion’s share of the carries and the touches and when the Eagles need the yardage and scoring production the most, McCoy will be that guy. Fantasy owners need not worry about the few carries and touches he’ll lose to Sproles.
