St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead said that he expects the Rams to use a "hot hand" approach at running back on a week-to-week basis. The Rams started Benny Cunningham in preseason games last month and he's destroyed rookie running back Tre Mason in the battle for snaps.
Benny Cunningham could create fantasy headaches for Zac Stacy owners
Benny Cunningham could be part of a hot hand approach at running back next to Zac Stacy. We break down the fantasy implications

The Rams are going to be running the ball a ton with quarterback Sam Bradford (knee) out for the season. Zac Stacy is still expected to get the lion's share of the work, but this news suggests his job isn't entirely safe and he's probably not going to be getting 30 touches in a game -- a feat he accomplished twice last season.
Fantasy impact: Fantasy owners can't stand the phrase "running back by committee," but we're not there just yet. Stacy hasn't done anything wrong to lose his job and this is still just GM speak, so his owners can feel comfortable starting him this week against the weak Vikings defense. Cunningham is a very strong pickup for back-needy fantasy teams, though, especially considering the Rams' improved defense and what could be an inept aerial attack.
