It happens every year. A player owned in few if any fantasy football leagues puts together a monster performance and quickly becomes the most popular player on waivers. This week, Jacksonville Jaguars rookie wide receiver Allen Hurns is the first such player. The undrafted free agent had a huge debut, catching four passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, all in the first half. His touchdowns came on his first two catches.
Allen Hurns is your trendy fantasy football waiver wire pickup for Week 2
Allen Hurns is the latest under-the-radar player to put up huge fantasy numbers in his debut. He will be a popular figure on the waiver wire, but is he worth an add?

Coming into the game, Hurns was owned in 7 percent of Yahoo! leagues. He only moved into the starting lineup after Cecil Shorts III injured his hamstring earlier this week. It's safe to say he will be a big name on waivers on Tuesday.
Hamstring injuries are always tough to project, and given his production, Hurns has probably earned another real football start. He’s not such an obvious option in fantasy, however, because his production is entirely unpredictable. He is worth a grab if you need a reserve, but unless you feel like a crazy gamble, let’s wait a week or two to see what else he does. The Jaguars travel to face a Washington squad that has a whole lot of question marks on defense. If he can put together a solid performance, then maybe consider him for a Week 3 start.
