The offseason addition of wide receiver DeSean Jackson to the Washington receiving corps appeared to make a great tandem out of Jackson and Pierre Garcon. In Sunday's season-opening 17-6 loss to the Houston Texans, though, neither pass catcher was the team's leading receiver.
Pierre Garcon, DeSean Jackson underwhelm Washington, fantasy owners
The two big-name Washington receivers were both held mostly in check Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

With four catches for 86 yards, tight end Niles Paul actually led Washington in receiving yards. Garcon caught 10 balls for 77 yards, while Jackson caught eight for 62. The two did lead the way in targets, with 12 for Garcon and nine for Jackson.
Fantasy impact: Paul was only a factor for Washington after tight end Jordan Reed left with a hamstring issue. Regardless, much of the Washington debate in the preseason was whether Garcon or Jackson would be the team's receiving bell cow, and Sunday's results have to be disappointing.
The Washington offense couldn’t get much of anything going against the Texans. The team will face worse defenses and will play better going forward, so it’s not time to downgrade either receiver quite yet, but you would like to see a score somewhere in there.
