Having come over as a free agent from Minnesota, new Jacksonville Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart had a lot of expectations entering the 2014 season. Through one game at least, he fell short of those expectations, as Gerhart was fairly unproductive in Jacksonville's season-opening 34-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Toby Gerhart doesn’t do much for Jaguars, fantasy owners
The new Jaguar couldn’t get much going in the team’s season-opening loss. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gerhart had 42 rushing yards on 18 carries, adding 15 receiving yards on two catches in the game. He was the bell cow of the team's running game, with Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman getting only three carries apiece, and combining for just 14 yards.
Fantasy impact: Gerhart averaged only 2.3 yards a carry, which is a pretty awful total for a guy expected to be his team’s primary ball carrier. In limited action, Robinson and Todman couldn’t do much either, and the three running backs had a combined average exactly the same as Gerhart’s.
Gerhart was seen as a lower-end fantasy starter, just by virtue of being the only guy with the job, but this was a pretty disappointing performance. He’ll have to improve dramatically to be even a flex play going forward.
