It looked like Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah was destined for great things in Week 1. In fact, this was his very first carry of his career:
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 5: Ameer Abdullah still too risky to start
Ameer Abdullah has been quiet since his debut against the San Diego Chargers. Can fantasy owners trust him this week?

Wow. As nice as that was, it's Abdullah's only touchdown of his season and he's only averaged 21.7 yards per game, which is actually less than that video of his TD. Of course, the Lions' offense has been a disaster, so it's not like it's a knock on Ameer. In fact, no other running back had more than two carries last week after running back Joique Bell had 10 carries for six yards in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos.
On top of the problems coming into this week, the Lions get a bad matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. While the Cardinals were shredded by St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley last week, their body of work since last season makes them a tough matchup.
Fantasy impact: He’s worth owning, but Abdullah is too risky to start this week.
