Washington tight end Jordan Reed (concussion, knee, ankle) has been ruled out of the team's Week 5 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Reed did not participate in practice any day this week and remains in the early stages of the NFL's concussion protocol.
Jordan Reed injury update: TE ruled out for Washington, fantasy owners
Washington tight end Jordan Reed has been ruled out for Week 5. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: With Reed battling a litany of injuries, Derek Carrier is the next man up in Washington. Carrier started the season with the San Francisco 49ers before Washington traded a conditional fifth-round draft pick for his services. While he hasn't made much noise on the field yet, the 25-year-old is a talented athlete at 6'3 with a 4.49 time in the 40-yard dash.
Carrier will need time to pick up the new offensive scheme but he’s a guy that’s worth keeping an eye on, especially considering Reed’s long injury history. While he’s not a recommended start this week, he’ll be worth a speculative add if Washington can find a way to get him on the field and targeted.
