Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown sprained his ankle on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Josh McCown ‘hopeful’ to play Sunday, per report, but should be on fantasy benches
Josh McCown is coming off a monster performance, but suffered an ankle injury in the process. We break down the fantasy implications.

Schefter added that McCown is hopeful for Sunday's contest with the Denver Broncos. The 36-year-old from Sam Houston State has put forth an incredible start to his season, averaging around 300 yards per outing while throwing six touchdowns to one interception in four games. McCown is coming off one of the best performances of his career, leading the Browns to a 33-30 comeback overtime thriller over the Ravens, contributing 457 yards and two touchdown passes on the road.
Fantasy impact: McCown should be owned in fantasy leagues of all formats, but his prospects for Sunday don’t look encouraging. That has less to do with his health and more to do with him facing arguably the NFL’s best defense in the Denver Broncos.
The Broncos have not allowed more than 282 passing yards in a game to opposing quarterbacks and have given up just three touchdown passes in five games. It's a legitimate "no-fly-zone" in Denver, even with Aqib Talib dealing with an ankle injury, and McCown owners should want no part of it. Even if McCown gets the start, fantasy owners should leave him on benches for Week 6 and save him for juicier matchups down the road.
