Drew Brees isn’t the must-start player he used to be. We break down the fantasy implications.

Brees is not 100 percent due to a shoulder injury. He has been “angry” about his season and so are his fantasy owners with him being just the No. 20 fantasy quarterback. The good news is he is heading into one of the highest-scoring games against the Falcons on Thursday.
The Falcons have been the seventh-toughest matchup for fantasy quarterbacks, although that does come with a grain of salt because they just faced Dallas Cowboys quarterback Brandon Weeden and the Houston Texans. In other words, they aren't a top-15 fantasy D against QBs.
Fantasy impact: Brees should have a good chance to get it going this week. He usually tears the Falcons apart and the team will be leaning on him a lot and expect him to score TDs to keep up with ATL.
