Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had expressed a desire to play in Week 6 vs. the Arizona Cardinals and his old offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, according to reports, but that will not likely happen.
Ben Roethlisberger unlikely to play Sunday, could return Week 7 for Steelers, fantasy owners
The Steelers have gone 1-1 in Ben Roethlisberger’s absence, and could be getting their franchise quarterback back under center soon. We break down the fantasy implications.

There is no expectation for Roethlisberger to take the field on Sunday, although he has made significant progress since his Week 3 knee injury per Jason LaCanfora of CBS. LaCanfora added that the Steelers’ Oct. 25 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs is a realistic possibility, putting his recovery time at just four weeks since an injury required him to be carted off the field.
Fantasy impact: Perhaps the only people looking forward to Roethlisberger’s return more than those in the Steelers organization are Antonio Brown’s fantasy owners. With Michael Vick under center, Brown hasn’t eclipsed five catches for 50 yards, which is a stat line he put up in 35 prior games.
When Roethlisberger returns, he will be a high-end QB1 and will boost the value of Brown, Martavis Bryant and Heath Miller. Until then, fantasy owners with stock in the Steelers’ offense will have to wait at least another week for better results.
