San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers will get the start in one of the highest scoring games of the weekend. Las Vegas has his game against the Green Bay Packers at an over/under of 51, which is the second-highest game of the weekend.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 6: Philip Rivers set for a shootout
Philip Rivers won’t be the best quarterback on the field on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
The Packers have actually done a decent job at stopping quarterbacks this year, ranking as the eighth-toughest matchup for fantasy quarterbacks. As you might expect, the game last week against the St. Louis Rams really pulled down their average -- Nick Foles had two fantasy points.
As for Rivers, he is coming in fairly hot in his last two. In those games, he totaled 723 yards and five scores. Most of his weapons are healthy and he should have some success getting the ball down the field even against the terrific safety tandem of Green Bay.
Fantasy impact: You almost have to start him this week even though he’s been worse on the road. Rivers should have a big game and get help from his running game to score points.
