Houston Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer is quietly putting up solid numbers despite his dysfunctional surroundings. On Sunday, Hoyer led the Texans to a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, throwing for 293 yards and three touchdowns. He didn't commit any turnovers.
Brian Hoyer may be the best fantasy quarterback on your waiver wire right now
Brian Hoyer may be the best option on your waiver wire right now -- seriously. We take a look at the fantasy implications of Week 6.

Sure, most quarterbacks are capable of impressive games. However, Hoyer's numbers over the past three weeks may prove that he's been a consistently solid contributor to the offense. In Week 5 against the Colts, Hoyer was 24 of 31 for 312 yards and two scores. He threw one interception in that contest. In Week 4, after taking over as the team's starter, Hoyer threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions.
Most of Hoyer's production can be attributed to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins' phenomenal season. Also, the return of running back Arian Foster is keeping opposing defenses honest with Hoyer under center. Hoyer will look to continue his momentum against the Miami Dolphins in Week 7.
Fantasy impact: The real news here is the fact that Hoyer is owned in just six percent of fantasy leagues right now (Yahoo!). Kirk Cousins, Teddy Bridgewater, Nick Foles, and Mike Vick are just a handful of quarterbacks that are owned in more leagues than Hoyer. Hoyer is far from a must-own. However, he's shaping up to be a suitable streamer or even a backup if needed. Hoyer hasn't faced a truly daunting defense in his three-week stretch, but two of his games were on the road. As long as Hopkins and Foster are healthy, Hoyer is a sneaky pickup for anyone in a two-quarterback league, and there are certainly worse options out there for anyone dealing with bye weeks right now.
