After two weeks this season, everyone in fantasy football was calling Indianapolis Colts running back Frank Gore a bust. He's too old. He's not in the right system. He can't catch passes out of the backfield like he used to. Maybe he's hurt. Blah blah blah.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 7: Frank Gore looks to hit pay dirt
Frank Gore has been a bust to date, but at least he is over his slow start. We break down the fantasy implications.
Well, Gore is putting his slow start behind him and has been a top-12 running back since that rough start. He’s getting near 20 touches per game now and the Colts need to run the ball in order to help out quarterback Andrew Luck’s bum shoulder.
This week, he gets the New Orleans Saints, who are really struggling at stopping the run. They are the fifth-easiest defense for fantasy running backs on the season, and they have been dreadful in the last two weeks against the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles.
Fantasy impact: There will be a lot of Gore in what figures to be a high-scoring game. He’s a borderline RB1-RB2 this week.
