The Carolina Panthers are winning some games and they're doing it without a rushing attack. Running back Jonathan Stewart is not getting pressure for carries, but he's only the RB29 in PPR fantasy leagues on the season.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 7: Jonathan Stewart could break through
Jonathan Stewart has been quiet for a while. We break down the fantasy implications.
He was much, much worse before last week, but Stewart went off for 78 rushing yards and two scores in Seattle against the Seahawks. This week, he gets another tough game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Surprisingly, they have been the third-toughest matchup for fantasy running backs. No running back has rushed for a TD against them and they've only topped 100 yards just once -- Washington in Week 4.
This game is at home, but that is somewhat irrelevant because Stewarts numbers are worse in Carolina even if you exclude last week’s explosion.
Fantasy impact: It’s nice to ride the hot hand and the Panthers getting a big win with Stewart getting the rock 20 times bodes well for him. He’s a nice start as an RB2.
