Oakland Raiders receiver Amari Cooper has been performing as expected this year. He is sitting at WR25 in a PPR and that includes a bye week.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 7: Amari Cooper coming off a bye
Amari Cooper will likely be a big-time target on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Cooper was coming in cold, though. He totaled just eight catches for 96 yards and one score in two losses. Teams are starting to cover Cooper with two guys and that may have caused his numbers to drop. Still, he’s on track to flirt with 100 catches and over 1,100 yards.
This week, he gets a bad matchup against the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers have been the second-toughest matchup for fantasy receivers in PPR and only one other team has allowed more yards overall, too.
Considering Cooper is more of a yards guy and not a red zone target, he’s not in an ideal spot.
Fantasy impact: Even though this is a bad matchup, Cooper is still a low-end WR2. He’s not a must-play guy at all, so feel free to consider someone else.
