The Buffalo Bills made the trip to London for Sunday’s game, but they didn’t do so with health. The Bills are the walking wounded entering Week 7. The Jacksonville Jaguars have their own health issues, but it’s nothing compared to what Buffalo is facing entering the teams’ London game on Sunday.
Fantasy football advice, Week 7: Who to start/sit for Bills vs. Jaguars in London
The season’s second London game features a Buffalo team with seemingly half its fantasy contributors injured.
The Bills will be without quarterback Tyrod Taylor, running back Karlos Williams and wide receivers Sammy Watkins and Percy Harvin for Sunday’s game. The Jaguars should have wide receivers Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns and tight end Julius Thomas active despite appearances on the weekly injury report.
Running back T.J. Yeldon appears likely to play, as well, after missing Week 6 with a groin injury, though he’s at least questionable enough that fantasy owners should check back early Sunday. Jacksonville is nominally the home team for Sunday’s game, though the game is in London. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. ET. Here’s a look at the fantasy names to consider:
BILLS
Start ‘em: We finally saw LeSean McCoy look something like the LeSean McCoy we had once expected in Week 6. Particularly with Karlos Williams out, he’s a must-start. ... Charles Clay should really benefit from the absence of the team’s other primary pass-catchers. ... Jacksonville has allowed big points to opposing defenses in back-to-back games. While the Bills’ defense has been a bit of a disappointment, this matchup looks good.
Start ‘em?: With Sammy Watkins and Percy Harvin sidelined, someone has to be the top wide receiver in Buffalo. Robert Woods is the most likely to step up, and he’s a low-end flex option, but far from a safe bet.
Sit ‘em: He put up 20 fantasy points in his spot start a week ago, but EJ Manuel doesn’t have that kind of upside on a week-to-week basis. Let him go. ... Chris Hogan will be the team’s No. 2 wide receiver Sunday. ... It’s been a month since Dan Carpenter has kicked for more than five points in a game.
JAGUARS
Start ‘em: It seems weird to say about Jacksonville receivers, but Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns are both fantasy starters. Neither one has gone for fewer than six fantasy points since Week 1. ... Julius Thomas showed why the Jaguars invested in him last week. He’s a No. 1 tight end.
Start ‘em?: It’s been a really hot fantasy stretch for Blake Bortles, At least 15 fantasy points in five straight, 20-plus points three times. Buffalo allows relatively strong fantasy performance to quarterbacks, as well. Bortles is a high-end QB2 this week. ... The Jaguars’ defense has had negative performance in three of the last four weeks, but with so many guys hurt for Buffalo, there’s at least potential here. It’s a desperation play only.
Sit ‘em: If T.J. Yeldon were healthy, he’d be a low-end No. 2 running back against this defense. Add in his injury concerns, and he’s a really dicey proposition. ... Jason Myers hasn’t been a strong fantasy kicker.
