The Atlanta Falcons came into Week 6 undefeated, but suffered their first loss. Sunday, they look to get back on the good side of things, and have an opponent that should be conducive for doing so, as they face the 1-4 Tennessee Titans, who have lost four straight since their season-opening win.
Fantasy football advice, Week 7: Who to start/sit for Falcons vs. Titans
One of these teams has one win. The other has one loss. That should give you a pretty good idea, really.
The Falcons had to worry about injuries to wide receivers Leonard Hankerson and Roddy White during the week, but both worked it out and should be fine for Sunday’s game. On the Tennessee side, the Titans will be without quarterback Marcus Mariota and wide receiver Harry Douglas for Sunday’s game.
Atlanta will head to Tennessee for the game, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Sunday. Let’s take a look at the fantasy names to consider:
FALCONS
Start ‘em: You would have hoped for more in the way of upside from Matt Ryan so far this year, who has only one game with more than 18 fantasy points, but he’s been trustworthy for at least a handful of points most weeks. He’s a must-start, just a low-end one. ... Remember when Devonta Freeman couldn’t even win the starting job at the start of the season? He has the most fantasy points in all of football. ... Julio Jones has slipped a little from his first three weeks (22.3 points a game Weeks 1-3; 8 since), but against a subpar pass defense he should be strong. ... Matt Bryant’s fantasy results have gradually fallen all season, but this seems like a get-right game for the Atlanta offense. ... The Falcons’ offense had back-to-back strong games before Week 6’s struggles. Against a backup quarterback, things should be better.
Start ‘em?: With two of the team’s receivers banged up, and given Tennessee’s struggles against tight ends, Jacob Tamme has some moderate upside this week.
Sit ‘em: It’s not like Tevin Coleman had really established himself long-term before his injury, but he still has to feel a little like Wally Pipp right now. ... Leonard Hankerson and Roddy White battle each other for targets, and it makes both of them hard to use.
TITANS
Start ‘em: You’d like to see more production from Delanie Walker, but with the tight end position full of non-sure things, he’s still a back-end starter.
Start ‘em?: This is a deep dive, but with a backup quarterback who likes to throw deep, Dorial Green-Beckham is the Titans’ best deep threat.
Sit ‘em: With Marcus Mariota out, the Titans will turn to Zach Mettenberger at quarterback. It’s hard to expect a big game out of him. ... The team’s running back situation is a mess, with Bishop Sankey, Antonio Andrews and Dexter McCluster all seemingly equally likely to have the most carries, but also all likely to put up basically no points. Just avoid the situation. ... Week 3 was the last time Kendall Wright had a decent game, and with a different quarterback, he’s hard to trust. ... There isn’t much upside to Ryan Succop at kicker. ... The Titans’ defense isn’t great to begin with, and faces a stout offense.
