Editor’s update: Jeremy Maclin is a surprise INACTIVE. This would likely indicate a setback of some sort in the concussion protocol. Bench him if you have him.
Jeremy Maclin injury update: Chiefs WR INACTIVE for fantasy owners in Week 7
Jeremy Maclin passed concussion protocol and should play Sunday. We take a look at the fantasy implications.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has passed concussion protocol and is expected to play Sunday, according to ESPN's Ed Werder. Maclin was able to practice on Friday and Saturday. The Chiefs will continue to search for an effective offensive game plan after the loss of running back Jamaal Charles in Week 5. Running backs Charcandrick West and Knile Davis have yet to emerge as reliable running backs for the Chiefs. They'll be facing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Pittsburgh's defense is ranked sixth in limiting rushing yards from opposing offenses. The Chiefs will have to go to Maclin often if they hope to pose a threat.
Fantasy impact: Despite the fact that Maclin only has one touchdown through six weeks, he’s averaging over six receptions and over 88 yards per week. Week 7 will be a prime match up for Maclin. Pittsburgh has given up the 11th-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. He’s a solid WR2 with added upside in PPR formats.
